  1. How do I work in my veil to my hairstyle?

The veil placement will depend on the type of hairstyle you have and also if you will be wearing the blusher. This will be established at your hair trial run. I will show you how to work it in and remove it as well as how it will be secured.

  2. How do I know what style will look right for my facial features?

Pictures work great but seeing what works best for you will be determined
at the trial run. We will get a visual of your face shape in order to balance your hairstyle options. Having a general idea of what you like and don't like which are the first steps.

  3. Should I have my bridal party wear the same hairstyle?

Everyone is different so it’s best to let them choose what they are comfortable with. This will result in more natural looking pictures plus make everyone happy. Some brides prefer a more consistent look for their bridal party so this is a personal preference. I would suggest taking one idea and applying it to each person in a modified way.

  4. What should I do if I like a hairstyle that is out dated but better suits me?

I suggest going with a style that works for you rather then putting a label or date on it. Ultimately, it’s how it makes you feel and not necessary what’s in.
There are ways of tweaking the style to compromise between these two options.

  5. How soon in advance should I do a trial?

I suggest 2 trials, one ‘initial’ trial ASAP so you can determine the options and plan in advance. You will need to understand your hair texture, what products to use, color, cut, hair piece, additional purchases like extension or hair fillers, etc. Also, if you wish to secure the date this would be the time to do it as well. Then a ‘final’ trial will need to be scheduled approx 2 weeks prior to your wedding date, so by then you have your headpiece, veil, jewelry, your hair is the same color and length that will be on the day of your wedding. Then you can pull it all together as if it were the day of the wedding. At the wedding we review my notes & pictures. Taking these steps will ensure a smooth and easy transition on your big day!

  6. My hair is so short so how can I dress it up?

You can! You can put in a soft wave, spark up the layers by texturing with products, have volume at the crown area, change up the direction of the front, pull up one or both sides, tuck behind the ears and much more!!

  7. When do I wash my hair?

I recommend having the hair washed the night before (it’s best to have the hair not be squeaky clean)…unless it tends to get oily. If it does, then wash day of. Also use a little conditioner in the hair to prevent static. If you choose to wash day of just to feel cleaner overall, then we will work in hair products to help with the texture.

  8. How do I figure out my hair style with my dress style?

I recommend a soft look like curls, half up for dresses that have lace or if wearing pearls. For dresses that are clean lined, simple with not sequence or embroidery, I would suggest simple chignons/buns, twists. Keep in mind these are just a few styles that can be incorporated into any look. It depends on the feel of the dress, the theme of the wedding, but most of all your personality.

  9. Comfort is a hugh deal to me because I have a sensitive scalp. How can I have an updo that will last with out getting a headache from the bobby pins after so many hours?

A I use hair fillers! They are extremely lightweight, flexible and most of the bobby pins get worked into this piece as opposed to your scalp. They are used to help give you a secured base and it keeps the fullness and shaping in your hair until you take it out…it will last hours! They are wonderful and can be worked into almost any hairstyle you choose. They range from $35-$45 and are well worth the investment. They can be reused again too.

  10. How many weddings can you do in a day?

Sometimes I can do 3 parties in 1 day, it all depends. It will depend on how many people are in each bridal party, what location I need to travel to, and what time frame I will need to start and be finished by.

  12. Is there ever a time where you cannot do something that is requested of you?

A I haven’t run into this problem. I suggest alternative ideas according to the person’s hair texture, length and what is being requested with their sense of style. We work through all the possibilities to best fit that person’s needs.
